When to Report
Report content or behavior that includes:
Immediate/Severe Violations:
- Hate speech or bigotry (racism, transphobia, homophobia, ableism, zionism)
- Personal attacks or harassment
- Threats or intimidation
- Doxxing (sharing personal information)
- Sexual harassment
- Spam or malicious links
- Illegal harmful content
Other Violations:
- Off-topic or disruptive posts
- Misinformation or conspiracy theories
- Excessive self-promotion
- Impersonation
- Copyright infringement
- Guidelines violations
How to Report
Method 1: Report Button (Fastest)
- Find the violating post/comment
- Click the flag icon or select “Report”
- Indicate reason:
- Spam
- Harassment
- Hate speech
- Off-topic
- Other (specify)
- Add context in text box (optional but helpful)
- Click “Submit Report”
Note: We are still working on getting the report function to work properly. Please use the other methods if the report button is not showing up. We apologize for the inconvenience!
Method 2: Direct Message to Moderators
For more detailed reports:
- Go to “Members”
- Select “Moderators” from the filter bar
- Select “Message” on any moderator’s profile card
- Include:
- Link to violating content
- Username of violator
- Specific guideline violated
- Any relevant context or screenshots
- Send message
Method 3: Support Portal
For serious or complex issues:
- Go to the Support Portal (in site footer and under “Contact” dropdown in main site menu)
- Subject: “REPORT: [Brief Description]”
- Include all relevant details and links
What Happens After You Report
Immediate:
- You’ll receive confirmation that report was received
- Your report is added to moderator queue
- Reporter identity remains confidential
Within 24 Hours:
- Moderator reviews the report
- Context and conversation history are examined
- Community guidelines are consulted
- Decision is made
Possible Actions:
- Warning issued to user
- Content removed
- User temporarily muted
- User permanently banned
- No action (if not a violation)
You’ll Receive:
- Notification that report was reviewed
- Action taken (if appropriate to share)
- Thanks for helping keep community safe
Your Privacy is Protected
- Your identity as reporter is never revealed
- Violators don’t know who reported them
- Moderators see reports, not other users
- All reports are confidential
False Reports
Please report in good faith:
- Don’t report simply because you disagree
- Don’t report as retaliation
- Repeated false reports may result in account restrictions
When NOT to Report
Use Report For: Guideline violations, harmful behavior
Don’t Use Report For:
- Simple disagreements
- Unpopular opinions (that don’t violate guidelines)
- Mistakes or typos
- Content you personally dislike but isn’t harmful
For Disagreements:
- Reply and discuss
- Agree to disagree
- Use the hide/mute function
- Move on
Emergency Situations
If content involves:
- Immediate danger to someone
- Threats of violence
- Child safety concerns
- Illegal activity
Take additional action:
- Report through platform immediately
- Email [email protected] with “URGENT” in subject
- If someone is in immediate danger, contact local authorities
Reporting User Profiles
To report an entire profile (not just one post):
- Visit user’s profile card on the “Members” page
- Click “Report”
- Select reason
- Provide details
- Submit
Moderator Response Times
We aim to review all reports within:
- High Priority (hate speech, harassment, threats): Within 2 hours
- Medium Priority (spam, off-topic): Within 24 hours
- Low Priority (minor guideline issues): Within 48 hours
Appeal Process
If you disagree with a moderator decision:
- Email [email protected]
- Subject: “Appeal: [Topic/Decision]”
- Explain your perspective calmly
- Provide any additional context
- A different moderator will review
