Canceling Your Membership

We’ll be sad to see you go, but you can cancel your membership at any time.

Before You Cancel

Consider these alternatives:

  • Downgrade to Observer (Free) – Keep community access without cost
  • Financial Hardship Scholarship – Email [email protected] if cost is the issue
  • Contact Us – Let us know if there’s something we can improve

How to Cancel

Step 1: Access Account Settings

  1. Log in to your account
  2. Hover over “Profile” in the site menu
  3. Select “My Membership”
  4. Navigate to “My Memberships” section

You can also cancel directly from your profile page by going to “More” in your profile menu and scrolling down to “Membership.” Scroll to “My Memberships” and you will find the button to cancel there.

Step 2: Initiate Cancellation

  1. Click “Cancel”
  2. You’ll be asked to confirm your decision

Step 3: Confirm Cancellation

  • Review the cancellation details
  • Click “Confirm”
  • You’ll receive confirmation via email

What Happens After Cancellation

Immediate Effects:

  • Your subscription will not renew at the next billing date
  • You keep full access through the end of your current billing period
  • No further charges will occur

Paid Member Access Timeline:

  • If you cancel mid-cycle, you retain paid access until period ends
  • After your renewal date, exclusive content for your paid tier will no longer be accessible

Your Account:

  • Your account remains active (not deleted)
  • You will not be able to access the community or post to your member blog
  • Your profile, comments, and forum posts remain visible
  • You can rejoin at any time with the same account
  • Your community contributions stay in place

No Refunds for Partial Periods

Per our Terms of Service:

  • Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period
  • We don’t offer prorated refunds for partial months
  • You’ve paid for access through your next billing date, so use it

Reactivating Your Membership

Changed your mind? You can reactivate anytime:

  1. Log in to your account
  2. Go to “My Membership”
  3. Re-subscribe or choose a new tier
  4. Billing will resume immediately

Your previous subscription history and community standing remain intact.

Complete Account Deletion

If you want to delete your account entirely (not just cancel membership):

  • Email [email protected] with “Account Deletion Request” in the subject line
  • Include your account email and username
  • We’ll process within 5 business days
  • This is permanent and cannot be undone
  • Some content may remain in backups per our Privacy Policy
